Welcome to StackSage ("we", "us", or "our"), accessible at https://stacksage.dev. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our interactive learning platform.

1. About StackSage

StackSage is an interactive, tactile technical education platform designed to help software engineers, DevOps professionals, and tech learners master modern technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines) through bite-sized 10-minute daily sprints and client-side terminal sandboxes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to deliver and personalize your learning experience:

  • Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, profile picture URL, and unique Google ID. We use this strictly to authenticate your account and sync your learning progress.
  • Learning Progression Data: Your course progress, completed lessons, daily streaks, earned XP, checkpoint quiz scores, and unlocked badges.
  • Device and Usage Information: Standard browser metadata (screen resolution, user agent) to optimize the responsive layout and interactive simulators.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following educational purposes:

  • To create and maintain your user account.
  • To save and synchronize your course completions, streaks, and XP across devices.
  • To personalize your daily missions and syllabus roadmap.
  • To safeguard the security of our platform and prevent fraudulent activity.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertisers.

4. Third-Party Infrastructure & Data Processors

To deliver a fast, reliable, and secure learning experience, we partner with industry-standard cloud providers:

  • Google Identity Services: Provides secure OAuth 2.0 user authentication.
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL): Securely stores user profiles and lesson progress with strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies.
  • Cloudflare Pages: Serves our static assets and edge computing with global SSL encryption and DDoS protection.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy & Limited Use Disclosure

StackSage's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • Requested Scopes: We exclusively request basic, non-sensitive identity scopes: openid, email, and profile.
  • No Advertising Use: We never use information obtained through Google APIs to serve targeted advertisements or build marketing profiles.
  • No Data Brokering: We never sell or transfer Google user data to third-party data brokers or aggregators.
  • No AI Model Training: We never use Google user data to train generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
  • Revoking Permissions: You may revoke StackSage's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account Permissions Settings.

6. Data Security & Retention

All data transmitted between your browser and StackSage is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS. Your account information is stored securely in PostgreSQL databases guarded by strict Row-Level Security policies ensuring only you can read and write your progress data.

6. User Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to access, export, or delete your personal account data at any time. To request complete deletion of your account and all associated progress data from our databases, contact us at stacksage.dev@gmail.com. Requests are processed within 48 hours.

7. Children's Privacy

StackSage is intended for general audiences interested in software engineering and technology. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
